CCO is flying its senior consultants around the world to train Microsoft's top consulting partners on the latest Azure cloud technologies! Under this arrangement, CCO is training consultants in Redmond (USA), Sydney (Australia), Munich (Germany), Toronto (Canada), and London (England).
Microsoft is having CCO conduct the training on the newly released Microsoft Azure Operations Management Suite (OMS), Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery (ASR) because CCO has participated in the early adopter programs of the technologies and has been implementing the solutions for over 18-months in real world environments.
CCO not only knows the technologies forwards and backwards, but can share with Microsoft's top consulting partners how the technology best assists enterprise customers in their I.T. operations, and CCO can share tips, tricks, and best practices on implementing and supporting the new solutions.
Once again, CCO is not only the world's experts on the latest Microsoft technologies, but is helping Microsoft share the knowledge and expertise about the technologies to consulting firms around the globe!
Convergent Computing celebrates the kick off of its 30th year in business! Very few organizations reach 30-years in business, and especially in the computer/tech field where things are changing, 30-years is forever
In 30-years, CCO has evolved from being a small retail storefront in Berkeley selling clone PCs, dot matrix printers, and floppy disks; to providing end to end consulting and Novell network implementation services to small businesses (late 1980s); to being a major hardware reseller selling $3-mil a month of Compaq and IBM laptops, desktops, and servers with major sales contracts to Sprint Communications and Levi Strauss (mid-1990s); to being an early adopter consulting and implementation firm working with Microsoft on initial releases of Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint (2000); to being Microsoft’s Global Partner of the Year in the O365 and Azure Clouds (2015)!
CCO continues to evolve its business model to keep up with the ever changing marketplace and industry, and to provide services to its clients that are of value and of benefit to those it serves! We thank our clients, whom over the years are the reason we continue to stay in business. Thank you!

“Being recognized by Microsoft as being top of our game in this new world of the Cloud is HUGE for our company, especially this year!,” says CCO Founder and President, Rand Morimoto. "Later this summer, we will roll into our 30th year in business under the same leadership and management, a major milestone and feat in itself! We are able to look at the business not just for the amazing work the employees of the company have been able to do over the past three decades, but to stand tall and say we are STILL able to keep ahead of the ever changing technology industry and strategically assist our clients with the best guidance and expert level hands-on assistance in the marketplace!”
Out of over 600,000 Microsoft consulting firms in the world, CCO was named Microsoft's Global Partner of the Year!
While many well known global consulting firms with 1000's of consultants worldwide were part of the pool of potential award candidates, CCO's deep knowledge, early adopter experience, nimbleness to execute, and breadth and depth across a wide range of solution areas helped CCO secure this global recognition!
As Microsoft's Partner of the Year (2014), Rand participated in many executive briefings at the 2014 Worldwide Partner Conference.
At one briefing, Rand met up with Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella
Rand blogged on the latest release from Microsoft on a Microsoft Azure-based Cloud Service called "Azure Site Recovery (ASR)". ASR takes on-premise virtual machines and replicates the content up to identical (bootable) virtual machines up in Azure.
At any time, an organization can "failover" to Azure (either planned or unplanned) and the virtual machines will boot and run up in Azure as a cloud-based offsite datacenter.
And at $27/virtual machine/month, it makes disaster recovery affordable! No more buying hardware, paying hundreds of $$ a month for Co-Location services. Azure Site Recovery provides a reliable and dependable way to maintain operational uptime!

After several years of presenting in various locations across six continents, Michael had the opportunity to present on the final continent, Antarctica, as part of an organized event sponsored by large SharePoint companies AvePoint and FPWeb.
The event was organized under the ‘Sharing the Point’ tour (http://sharingthepoint.org), which is a tour company founded by Michael and several other worldwide SharePoint speakers with the established goal of bringing SharePoint to places where it has never been.
After a successful tour of South America, six of the STP speaker team, including Michael flew down from Punta Arenas, Chile to King George Island, the most populated place in Antarctica, with a summertime population of up to 500. The STP speaking team discussed SharePoint and other Microsoft related topics to the researchers and civilians on the island, in the Russian, Chilean, Uruguayan, and Chinese bases, while at the same time conducting ‘sessions’ with local wildlife that was taped for use back in more populated continents.
